Job Description
Sales Representative responsible for growing 3M's abrasive product portfolio in North East England & Scotland. Collaborating with industrial manufacturing businesses to optimize production processes and enhance customer loyalty.
Responsibilities:
- Support our end user customers to optimize their production processes, delivering market leading productivity savings and safety improvements with 3M abrasive products
- Meet & exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by increasing market share through competitive new end user conversions
- Build a strong pipeline of new opportunities and close win these opportunities as required under sales plan
- Utilise the Customer Relationship Database SF.com (accounts, activities, opportunities, profiles, contacts) as a territory management and sales planning tool
- Find and develop new end users increasing end user loyalty to 3M Abrasive products across the territory by using abrasive product, application and process knowledge
- Develop close working relationships with the territory channel partner Sales Reps built on agreed business plans, promotional activities, joint working and end user support
- Feedback on competitor activities within the marketplace
Requirements:
- Strong general educational background
- Demonstrated negotiation capabilities and solid commercial acumen
- Ability to build effective relationships and operate successfully within a complex organizational structure
- Excellent communication skills, with strong questioning and active-listening abilities
- Persuasive influencing skills that support positive business outcomes
- Highly organized, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines
- Proficient in core IT applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SF.com
- Proactive, driven, and results-focused, with a strong passion for sales and achieving targets
- Tenacious and resilient, able to navigate conflict and challenges while maintaining focus and perspective
- Able to understand technical concepts related to abrasive products and effectively sell or demonstrate them within an industrial manufacturing environment
- Proven industrial market sales experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (preferred)
- Effective project management skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks, timelines, and stakeholders (preferred)
