Job Description
Seasonal part-time audit associate conducting audits and preparing financial statements for condominium and cooperative clients. WilkinGuttenplan is a New Jersey and New York accounting and advisory firm.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and provide other services to condominium/cooperative industry clients
- Create workpapers, reports, and supporting audit documentation
- Prepare financial statements and footnotes
- Handle large and small engagements simultaneously
- Maintain and improve client relationships through exceptional customer service
- Serve multiple clients within the NY/NJ condominium/cooperative industry
- Collaborate in a team environment while also working independently
- Contribute during the January–mid-June busy season and potentially work occasionally during the rest of the year
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and public accounting experience preferred
- Familiarity with journal entries
- Proficiency in navigating general ledgers
- Solid understanding of financial statements
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and Word (Microsoft 365 suite)
- Ability to navigate and learn new technologies
- Ability to complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently in a remote setting
- Collaboration, communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to meeting deadlines
- Understanding and alignment with the firm’s core values
- Must be available for approximately 20–30 hours per week during January–mid-June, with potential occasional work July–December
- Work authorization/residence in the U.S.; NJ/NY residence preferred
