Job Description

Corporate strategy analyst supporting M&A, capital markets, and growth initiatives at Paylocity, a cloud HR and payroll software provider. Building financial models, conducting market research, and preparing executive presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and executing strategic efforts around M&A, capital markets, special projects, organic growth opportunities, and business development
  • Work directly with Managers and Directors of Corporate Development to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives
  • Help shape strategy and identify areas of M&A focus
  • Refine and execute processes and analytical frameworks for analyzing M&A opportunities
  • Research and analyze high-priority strategic markets, including industry mapping and deep dives into targeted M&A and partnership opportunities
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and financial modeling
  • Assist cross-functional efforts to analyze and execute capital markets activities
  • Partner with and drive cross-functional efforts throughout M&A execution, including diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, and integration
  • Prepare board-level and executive-level strategic and financial presentations
  • Communicate directly with senior management and regularly interact with the CFO

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of highly relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or transaction services
  • Demonstrated exposure to M&A transactions
  • Direct experience supporting M&A execution, including diligence, financial modeling, and deal analysis
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to build operational, acquisition, and pro forma models independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and independently in a fast-paced, high-judgment environment
  • Exposure to public equity or debt capital markets preferred
  • Software or tech transaction experience preferred
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of the software or technology sector
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, typically 7–8 hours a day
  • Ability to operate a computer, use phone systems, type, and use multiple software programs simultaneously
  • Must be available five days per week during designated work hours
