Job Description
Senior Assignment Editor managing digital content workflows for GDIT’s government and defense mission services. Coordinating regional contributors, editorial standards, platform analytics, and customer reporting remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee editorial workflows for multiple online platforms and ensure compliance with content plans, editorial policies, and style standards
- Synchronize regional content providers and editors to ensure high-quality, timely production
- Review content for accuracy, clarity, relevance, and consistency with program objectives and audience needs
- Monitor site activity, performance, and content effectiveness
- Identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities
- Contribute editorial outputs, site metrics, and observations to periodic customer reports
- Support program assessment with qualitative and quantitative platform-performance insights
- Support site marketing, outreach, and audience-engagement campaigns through editorial planning and content alignment
- Coordinate messaging priorities and maintain synchronized narratives across contributors
- Recommend content-production adjustments based on audience behavior, analytics, and program requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams, regional content creators, and leadership
- Clarify assumptions and refine content plans
- Present editorial findings and platform trends to internal and customer audiences
Requirements:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Strategic Studies, or related field required
- Relevant education and experience may be accepted in lieu of formal degree requirements
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience in news editing, editorial production, public diplomacy, international affairs, or related work
- Familiarity with cultures and political/social dynamics of the coverage region required
- English fluency required
- Fluency in at least one major regional language preferred
- Active DoW Secret clearance preferred; highly qualified candidates eligible to obtain a clearance may also be considered
- Strong editorial judgment and content quality assurance skills
- Experience managing digital content workflows across distributed teams
- Ability to interpret platform analytics and incorporate findings into editorial planning
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple contributors and enforce editorial standards
- US citizenship required
