Job Description
Senior Business Development and Capture Lead supporting full lifecycle business development efforts within the Defense Information Systems Agency. Role requires identifying opportunities and developing capture strategies while engaging with federal government stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within target federal agencies through proactive engagement, market research, and participation in industry events, resulting in an actionable pipeline.
- Stay informed on agency priorities, acquisition strategies, and industry trends to support strategic positioning and identify potential opportunities.
- Conduct background research on potential opportunities to understand scope, requirements, and procurement strategy.
- Develop and execute capture strategies, including customer engagement plans, teaming strategies, and win themes.
- Execute customer call plans and participate in meetings, conferences, and industry events to engage with potential customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, including program managers, contracting officers, and decision-makers within targeted agency.
- Leverage relationships to understand customer priorities and challenges related to target opportunities and build trust as you collaboratively seek to address those priorities and challenges.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align solutions and develop win strategies based on your comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
- Manage the capture process to shape the opportunity and build a strong value proposition.
- Support proposal efforts by providing thorough capture details, competitive analysis, and customer intelligence.
- Respond to RFI’s and RFP’s.
- Maintain and update the account pipeline and pursuit manager, ensuring accurate opportunity information, notes, and status updates.
- Participate in weekly review meetings to present the status of active opportunities and capture plans.
- Prepare and present opportunities at gate reviews as they mature through the pipeline.
- Leverage your own personal network to expand G3’s partnership portfolio.
- Attend Industry events to market G3’s core capabilities.
Requirements:
- A BA/ BS and a minimum of 7 years of experience supporting DoD agencies
- A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in Business Development and Capture Management
- Prior experience with Defense Information Systems Agency / Department of Homeland Security / Department of Justice (i.e. DISA, JSP, FBI, USACE, etc.)
- Strong relationships with key government stakeholders and extensive relationships with other industry partners
- Possess analytical presentation and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations (i.e., GovWin, Ebuy, FPDS)
- Experience in identifying and qualifying small and large contract opportunities, with emphasis on opportunity qualification and shaping
- Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including: opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits and demonstrations, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, written submissions (market surveys, RFI responses, support to proposals), team leadership, etc.
