Job Description
Gartner Senior Director Analyst shaping AI and emerging-technology insights for enterprise leaders. Advising executives, researching market trends, and guiding technology strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, highly leveraged “must-have insights” content
- Develop insights and ideas through thought leadership and subject matter expertise
- Offer compelling, actionable approaches to clients’ mission-critical priorities
- Analyze client barriers and needs, identify root causes, and reframe thinking to drive strategy
- Establish positions across a team of analysts and bring independent insights to Gartner leaders
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to inform technology strategy
- Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual or face-to-face interactions
- Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
- Provide sales support and serve as the voice of the market
- Support Insights teams in creating content and driving client engagement
- Conduct timely, high-quality peer reviews of content
- Represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy as an industry expert
- Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions
- Collaborate with peers in the Insights community and across teams
- Identify research process improvements and develop new service-delivery processes
- Mentor and coach more junior team members
- Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
- Direct, hands-on leadership of enterprise-wide AI implementation projects across IT and business functions, including scaling from pilot to production
- Experience advising C-Suite executives and senior business leaders on technology strategy and business process redesign in AI and emerging technologies
- Strong technical understanding of emerging technologies, including agentic AI
- Ability to evaluate emerging market signals and balance risk and opportunity in technology investments
- Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent research and writing ability
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills
- Ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data and applying patterns and frameworks
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
- Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large- and small-scale speaking engagements
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment
- Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
- Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, where applicable
