Job Description
Senior Financial Analyst at Arena Club analyzing financial data and influencing business decisions. Collaborating with CFO and finance team to drive strategy and performance visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end financial analyses, from problem definition through recommendation, with limited oversight
- Analyze financial and operational data to assess the impact of business decisions on cost structure, margins, and revenue
- Build, maintain, and evolve dashboards and reports for leadership using tools such as Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or similar business intelligence platforms
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract insights across multiple data sources
- Work closely with finance and business stakeholders to:
- Understand and clarify business questions and data needs
- Translate ambiguous problems into structured, actionable analyses
- Deliver insights that directly influence strategic decision-making
- Develop clear narratives around financial performance, trade-offs, and risk
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc strategic analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and financial visibility across the business
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data used in leadership reporting
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar) or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL for independent data analysis and insight generation
- Advanced experience using business intelligence and visualization tools (Metabase, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
- Strong understanding of financial metrics, unit economics, and business KPIs, with the ability to apply them in ambiguous, real-world business scenarios
- Ability to evaluate and clearly explain the financial implications of business and operational decisions
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple analytical priorities simultaneously
- Experience supporting US or UK based businesses, or familiarity with their financial practices and reporting expectations
- Experience working in investment banking, consulting, or data analytics.
