Job Description
Senior Full Stack Consultant helping Wavestone clients turn AI innovation into business value. Building Java, web, cloud and Generative AI enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Help leading organizations turn AI and software innovation into business value
- Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and modern software architecture principles
- Focus on clean code, performance and automated testing
- Build responsive web applications using Angular or React with TypeScript
- Design and integrate APIs, databases and event-driven components using OpenAPI, PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Integrate Generative AI capabilities, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents and tool-based workflows
- Connect AI capabilities with enterprise systems through REST APIs, events or Model Context Protocol
- Automate application builds, testing and deployments using CI/CD pipelines, containers and cloud-native technologies on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, subject matter experts and client teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Contribute through code reviews, technical discussions and clear documentation
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification gained through professional experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack software development
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations
- Hands-on experience with Angular or React and TypeScript
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL or MongoDB
- Practical experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Practical experience building and integrating AI-enabled applications, including LLMs, prompt engineering, semantic/vector search, RAG, AI agents, agentic workflows, model-provider SDKs and MCP
- Experience with CI/CD, containers, automated testing, code reviews, error handling, logging and monitoring
- Very good English skills
- German language is a big plus
- Experience with production-ready RAG solutions, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, validation and evaluation
- Experience developing AI agents that plan tasks, use tools and prepare or execute actions in enterprise systems
- Proficiency in an additional programming language besides Java, such as Python or C#
- Experience with AI platforms and services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or OpenAI APIs
- Experience with AI quality practices such as automated evaluations, guardrails, observability and tracing
- Experience with Kafka, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, OpenShift or Terraform, work in regulated industries, or relevant cloud, Java, frontend or AI certifications
