Job Description
Senior Full Stack Engineer building accessible, secure enterprise applications for Humana, a U.S. healthcare company. Developing Node.js microservices, GraphQL APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications
- Create accessible UIs, GraphQL APIs, and Node.js-based microservices
- Build responsive, WCAG-compliant user interfaces
- Optimize application performance and implement security best practices
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Vitest, Jest, or Playwright
- Architect and implement scalable, domain-driven Node.js microservices
- Design and develop efficient GraphQL services, including schema design and query optimization
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using Docker or Kubernetes
- Collaborate with Agile product, architecture, UX, and engineering teams
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to architecture and engineering standards
- Maintain documentation for APIs, microservices, and front-end components
- Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering
- At least 3 years focused on full-stack development
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Vue.js, React, Lit, or similar
- At least 2 years of experience developing back-end services with Node.js
- Minimum of 1 year designing and implementing GraphQL APIs
- At least 1 year building and deploying microservices in production
- Proven experience applying Test-Driven Development
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Front-end performance optimization and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, and GraphQL best practices
- Familiarity with Azure, GCP, or AWS
- Docker and Kubernetes basics
- Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL and SQL Server
- Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB and DynamoDB
- Home internet with minimum 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed
- Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
