Job Description

Senior Learning Manager leading program implementations in South Africa for the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Managing high-quality learning experiences and collaborating with partners for educational impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and line management for South Africa based learning managers fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Plan and manage team capacity and resources to ensure effective delivery of programme priorities.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of high-quality learning experiences and resources aligned with programme goals and diverse learner needs.
  • Build and quality assure a network of trainers to support curriculum roll out.
  • Ensure all learning content and training reflect evidence-based pedagogy and the Foundation’s agreed teaching and learning approaches.
  • Apply quality assurance processes to ensure learning experiences meet required standards and reflect principles of inclusion and accessibility.
  • Use user insight, feedback, and data to inform continuous improvement and enhance learner experience and programme outcomes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Foundation’s teaching and learning strategy, drawing on research, evaluation, and best practice.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners to ensure alignment, strong relationships, and shared impact.
  • Lead and contribute to thought leadership activities, including writing blogs and articles, and supporting research and evaluation.
  • Represent the Foundation in South Africa through events, presentations, and professional networks.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of computing, supported by a degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or a related field.
  • Significant experience teaching computing or a closely related subject in South Africa, with a strong grasp of evidence-based pedagogy.
  • Proven experience line-managing staff in an education or learning design context.
  • Track record of designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences in formal and non-formal education settings.
  • Experience of designing and delivering high-quality teacher professional development and training.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, present effectively, and represent the organisation externally.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate contributions from others.
  • Effective collaborator, experienced in working across teams and with external partners.
  • Commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and equitable learning experiences for all learners.
  • Ability to use user feedback, data, and evaluation evidence to inform and improve educational design.
  • Supportive, reflective, and organised leader, committed to continuous improvement and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
