Job Description
Senior Tax Technology Manager implementing indirect tax systems across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. Coordinating engineering teams, tax requirements, integrations, testing, and launch readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical implementation plan between various domains and the indirect tax calculation service
- Translate indirect tax requirements into deliverables engineers can build
- Own the consolidated plan showing program status to Tax and Engineering leadership
- Author tax requirements and acceptance criteria that withstand audits
- Review design documents and challenge designs that will not scale to upcoming tax rules
- Define scope and sequencing for each integration
- Own critical paths and drive delivery timelines
- Assess downstream impact when teams slip and provide options
- Influence eight engineering teams' roadmaps and defend tax priorities
- Define testing, monitoring, rollout, go/no-go, and rollback criteria
- Ensure integrations launch with runbooks, alerting, and steady-state ownership
- Own the risk register and escalate risks with recommendations
- Maintain the integrated plan as the source of truth
- Coordinate decision cadence across Tax, Product, Engineering, and Data
- Report program status to senior leadership
Requirements:
- 8+ years in a corporate tax department, public accounting, or technology consulting
- Global or multi-country indirect tax implementation experience
- Familiarity with non-US indirect tax regimes
- Hands-on experience implementing Marketplace Facilitator laws across jurisdictions
- Program or project management experience across multiple dependent engineering teams
- Experience building plans, milestones, and dependency maps and driving them to completion
- Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development
- Working knowledge of software development processes
- Ability to read technical design documents and assess whether they will hold
- Experience defining testing and monitoring strategies for systems where correctness matters
- Strong analytical skills, high organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to operate without formal authority in a highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment
