Job Description
Procurement Strategist managing procurement plans based on sales and trends. Collaborating cross-functionally for strategic positioning and inventory management in a global e-commerce environment.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategist role responsible for development of procurement plans based on sales and trends
- Partners with Procurement, Brand Growth & Brand Operations on demand and purchases
- Develops projections and purchase flow
- Provides analysis to drive business goals, including hindsight’s and promotional strategies
- Forecasts monthly and seasonal plans within approved financial targets
- Analyzes and reacts to strategy performance based on sales and trends
- Prepares for monthly Open-to-Buy meetings
- Proposes tactics responding to current business trends and makes financial recommendations
- Manages promotional and liquidation strategy
- Communicates revisions to team and external partners
- Analyzes historical demand data using selling curves by category, brand, and country
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, or business preferred
- 2+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandise planning, demand forecasting; inventory management, financial planning etc. Amazon experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strong aptitude with numbers; retail math skills, understanding of forecasting methodology
- Makes decisions with limited information but also able to synthesize large quantities of data to drive business decisions
- Strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to internal and external stakeholders
- System proficiency with strong emphasis on Excel, DOMO or Tableau a plus
- Builds collaborative partnerships cross-functionally; identifies/influences critical stakeholders
