Job Description

Cencora facility engineering project manager leading distribution automation and construction projects. Managing vendors, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing project charters outlining project design and/or implementation requirements
  • Assist in preparing capital expenditure requests
  • Manage assigned project scope, including vendor selection and vendor management from RFP through design, installation, and final invoicing
  • Manage onsite build or installation coordination with internal and external partners
  • Develop and manage project budgets
  • Manage projects involving material handling equipment, warehouses, business systems, building construction or modification, and related equipment and services
  • Coordinate design, contractors, testing, training, and start-up activities
  • Manage assigned team members
  • Manage and report on project budgets and timelines
  • Issue or approve purchase orders according to company policy
  • Develop, maintain, and report timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors
  • Generate timely, concise project-status and pending-issue communications
  • Support supplier specifications, RFPs, and contractual negotiations
  • Manage external consultants, outsourced resources, and vendors
  • Coordinate with the Project Director and internal project teams to ensure alignment
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master’s Degree and/or PMP certification desired
  • Experience managing automation or construction projects exceeding $5MM per project
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience planning and tracking projects using project management software
  • Experience developing and tracking project costs
  • 7+ years of experience as a project manager, project engineer or related occupation
  • Prior experience in consulting, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen is beneficial
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience leading projects related to warehouse operations, warehouse design, warehouse and business systems, process improvement and standardization, engineered labor standards, and transportation
  • General knowledge of warehouse operations, warehouse design, and warehouse and business systems
  • General knowledge of automated material handling equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Access databases, Word, PowerPoint and AutoCAD
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and energize work teams
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to drive results from internal and external resources
  • Must be able to quickly adapt plans to changing business requirements
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be located near an airport
