Job Description

Senior Recruiter leading talent acquisition strategy to hire high-quality candidates across various roles. Partnering with leadership to shape workforce planning in a government contracting environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Sherpa 6’s talent acquisition strategy to attract, engage, and hire high-quality candidates across technical, operational, and leadership roles
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, forward-looking talent acquisition strategies aligned with business growth, contract demands, and workforce plans
  • Partner with senior leadership (HR, Ops, PMO, Program Managers) to forecast staffing needs, especially for roles requiring security clearances or niche technical expertise
  • Drive employer branding initiatives to attract a robust pipeline of qualified candidates, including veterans and cleared professionals
  • Identify process improvements, recommend new sourcing tools, and contribute to employer branding efforts
  • Mentor and support junior recruiters, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Manage and mentor a small but mighty high-performing talent acquisition team, setting goals, driving accountability, and fostering professional growth
  • Provide leadership in hiring best practices, continuous process improvement, and recruitment technology adoption (ATS, reporting tools)
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting from intake to offer acceptance for a variety of technical, cleared, and corporate roles
  • Develop and implement advanced sourcing strategies using job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, referral networks, and other channels to identify both active and passive candidates
  • Build and maintain a robust candidate pipeline, particularly for high-demand skillsets and hard-to-fill positions
  • Foster strong relationships and collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements, team needs, and role priorities; develop accurate and effective job descriptions and hiring plans
  • Provide consultative guidance on market trends, compensation expectations, candidate availability, and recruitment timelines
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for qualifications, culture fit, and readiness for government contractor work
  • Manage candidate communications, ensuring a positive experience throughout the interview lifecycle
  • Champion a positive and professional candidate experience from first contact through offer acceptance and onboarding
  • Define and track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, quality of hire, offer acceptance, etc.) and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Maintain applicant records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ensure compliance with legal and internal policies
  • Ensure recruiting processes comply with federal contractor requirements (e.g., OFCCP) and internal Sherpa 6 policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related field or 10+ years of professional experience in recruiting/talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in senior/leadership capacity within a high-growth or government contracting environment
  • Deep understanding of full-cycle recruiting, workforce planning, and advanced sourcing techniques
  • Proven success building and scaling recruiting functions, ideally in technical, engineering, or defense sectors
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to adopt new systems quickly
  • Collaborates well across teams and with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS/Paylocity, recruiting metrics/analytics, and employer branding strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Mission-oriented leader with a passion for people and talent development
  • Strategic thinker with high emotional intelligence and a solutions mindset
  • Comfortable influencing at the executive level and driving organizational change
  • Must be a US citizen
