Job Description
CVS Health GenAI platform engineer building secure LLM infrastructure, routing, RAG, and agentic workflow services. Enabling healthcare engineering teams to develop safely and cost-effectively with AI.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build core AI/GenAI platform services
- Develop authentication, quota and cost management, observability, and routing policy capabilities
- Build foundational services for LLM routing, cost governance, AI-assisted software development, RAG, and agentic workflow orchestration
- Enable enterprise engineering teams to build with LLMs quickly, safely, and cost-effectively
- Navigate healthcare compliance requirements involving PHI/PII, HIPAA, and BAAs with model providers
- Help define the next generation of foundational AI services
- Work closely with a senior, collaborative engineering team
- Explore new GenAI ideas and tools and bring them into platform development
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years building production backend services in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js
- 2+ years designing and building RESTful APIs or microservices
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Express, or NestJS
- Production experience integrating with LLM/AI provider APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Production experience with Redis, Kafka, and MongoDB, or equivalents
- Experience with OAuth2/OIDC or JWT-based authentication and authorization systems
- Experience with observability/telemetry tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Langfuse, or Datadog
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Git and code review processes
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline
- Master's degree preferred
