Job Description
Senior Full-Stack Engineer building scalable backend and frontend systems for Empower Pharmacy’s regulated healthcare and medication operations. Driving integrations, reliability, observability, and technical mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend systems supporting pharmacy operations, manufacturing, logistics, and regulatory compliance
- Contribute to system design, architectural standards, technical direction, and roadmap priorities
- Implement and maintain integrations across internal services and external regulatory systems using canonical data contracts and API versioning
- Build high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant systems
- Implement observability through distributed tracing, structured logging, and anomaly detection
- Collaborate with SRE teams on incident response and recovery-time reduction
- Analyze and optimize database, network, and application-tier performance
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through structured reviews and pair programming
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, reusable libraries, and infrastructure-as-code
- Use AI-assisted tools for system modeling, capacity planning, profiling, code generation, testing, and integration monitoring
- Translate operational complexity and regulatory requirements into technical recommendations
- Raise engineering quality, reliability, and delivery standards
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Expertise in distributed systems, backend architecture, and enterprise-scale microservices design
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript in production environments
- Strong proficiency in Java/Spring Boot; Python and C# are optional
- Strong proficiency in GraphQL and/or Node.js-based development
- Deep understanding of performance optimization, system reliability, and observability practices
- Ability to design systems meeting regulatory, security, and data integrity requirements
- Experience delivering production-grade backend systems in complex, high-growth environments
- Experience contributing to technical direction and mentoring junior engineers
- Experience in regulated industries requiring auditability, data traceability, and compliance-aware system design
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required
- Master's degree preferred
