Job Description
Senior Java Software Engineer architecting secure, scalable cloud microservices for Tight Line. Leading technical delivery, mentoring engineers, and supporting production systems for global clients.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and deliver complex application features
- Set high technical and software standards across the team
- Guide junior and mid-level engineers and foster technical growth, continuous learning, and clean code practices
- Shape the agile delivery lifecycle from architecture refinement and epic definition through production releases
- Own non-functional requirements for application health, system resilience, security, and performance at scale
- Evaluate emerging industry trends, AI tools, and elastic cloud technologies and implement innovative solutions
- Embed secure development practices and vulnerability mitigation protocols into the continuous delivery pipeline
- Partner with product management, cross-functional engineering teams, and external vendor partners to align technical strategies with business priorities
- Provide strategic tier-3 support for production systems
- Manage priorities and time effectively
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, architecture, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 6+ years in a technical software development role with demonstrated progression into senior-level technical leadership
- 4+ years of deep experience architecting and developing enterprise Java applications using Spring Framework
- Comprehensive automated testing experience
- Extensive experience designing, building, securing, and maintaining scalable RESTful microservices and API ecosystems
- Advanced expertise with AWS or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation or Terraform
- Proven track record in database design, complex SQL optimization, and efficient ORM/data access management
- Experience leading the architectural lifecycle of major production-grade features from inception to deployment
- Strong expertise in system design patterns, distributed systems architecture, microservices, and clean code principles
- Deep knowledge of secure development practices, security testing methodologies, and vulnerability resolution using tools like Snyk or Qualys
- Strong inclination toward CI/CD automation, DevOps principles, performance tuning, and proactive system monitoring
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to mentor team members and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
