Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building event-driven supply chain systems for DICK’S Sporting Goods. Developing APIs, integrations, and cloud-native services for fulfillment and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build best-in-class software solutions
- Perform business and software analysis
- Act as a product-team problem solver and domain subject matter expert
- Design, test, and deliver solutions for warehouse, transportation, and fulfillment systems
- Develop APIs, message-based processing, event-driven services, and cloud-native services
- Analyze, modify, improve, and develop fast, secure, and reliable software
- Monitor, diagnose, and correct complex software defects
- Produce concepts and prototypes for digital products and services
- Research and recommend solution optimizations
- Drive software maintenance roadmaps and prioritize development work
- Assign short-term work schedules based on storyboards and backlogs
- Develop own and junior team-member capabilities through training, coaching, and development planning
- Contribute to established program-management plans
- Guide database resource design, physical modeling, and performance tuning
- Support collection and documentation of functional requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level preferred
- Over 3 years to 6 years of general experience
- 4 to 6 months of basic experience coordinating the work of others
- Kotlin / Java (Spring Boot) for backend services
- REST APIs and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Apache Camel and/or Spring Integration
- Distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Microsoft Azure (AKS, Azure Functions, cloud-native services)
- Docker and Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
- React and/or React Native
- Observability tooling
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Linux/Unix environments and Git-based version control
- Secure software development practices
- AI-forward thinking and adoption
- Manhattan Active Supply Chain experience and Supply Chain background are nice-to-have
- Satisfactory background check, potentially including ID verification
- Cameras must be on during all virtual interviews
- AI tools are not permitted during any part of the interview process
