Job Description

Senior database infrastructure specialist implementing and optimizing Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud platforms. Supporting mission-critical applications, high availability, performance, and disaster recovery for global IT operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, optimize, and automate database technologies including Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Teradata on-premises and in public cloud environments
  • Implement and optimize Oracle GoldenGate technologies for real-time change data capture on-premises and in public cloud environments
  • Implement and maintain enterprise database solutions supporting performance tuning, upgrades, clustering, redundancy, and disaster recovery
  • Serve as subject matter expert and highest-level technical escalation for database technologies on-premises and in public cloud environments
  • Consult with and serve as liaison for end users and application developers supporting mission-critical applications
  • Ensure adherence to standards and procedures, and develop and implement database platform installation, maintenance, and enhancement standards
  • Articulate availability, performance, interoperability, and cost trade-offs to technical and executive audiences
  • Provide guidance and cross-training to team members
  • Work with and manage external technology vendors, system integrators, service providers, internal IT groups, and business units on projects and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience setting up and optimizing Oracle RAC, OGG, Postgres, and SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience fine-tuning SQL queries and optimizing indexes and plan management
  • Experience executing projects, including planning and implementing short- and long-term work plans and completing projects on schedule
  • Experience implementing enterprise database and cloud technologies
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Linux/Unix platforms: RHEL, Solaris, or AIX
  • Experience with application and database performance tuning, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Practical experience troubleshooting database problems
  • Experience managing and dealing with third-party system integrators and solution providers
  • Experience working with clustered and high-availability systems
  • Good knowledge of Oracle RAC, OGG, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
  • Good knowledge of cloud-based database technologies in Azure Cloud
  • Knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, or Oracle WebLogic is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management, Oracle Business Intelligence, and Oracle ODI is a plus
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including server hardware, virtualization/VMware, networks, load balancers, firewalls, SAN storage, backups, databases, AD/LDAP, SSO, and OCI
  • Required technologies: Oracle RAC, Oracle GoldenGate, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure cloud databases, RHEL, Solaris, AIX, SQL tuning, index optimization, execution plan management, database/application performance tuning, VMware, server hardware, networks, load balancers, firewalls, SAN storage, backups, AD/LDAP, SSO, and OCI
