Job Description
Sr. Software Engineer modernizing iHerb’s global online product catalog. Building .NET, React, and relational-data features with AI-assisted development tools.
Responsibilities:
- Build and ship catalog features end-to-end, including API design, business logic, data models, and React UI
- Use AI-driven SDLC tooling such as Claude Code for code generation, spec-to-code translation, and automated test creation
- Participate in the catalog modernization effort on the new stack alongside the existing platform
- Write and maintain automated tests
- Review pull requests, maintain code standards, and improve the shared golden path
- Collaborate with product and design to refine specifications before and during implementation
- Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerts
- Participate in the on-call rotation and own incident response for catalog services
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience shipping production code with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with daily use in delivering real software
- Comfortable contributing across backend, frontend, and data layers
- Experience owning features end-to-end from specification through deployment, observability, and on-call
- Strong grasp of software design principles, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD
- Backend development proficiency in one or more of C#/.NET, Go, Python, or Java; .NET/C# is the primary stack
- Proficiency in React or an equivalent modern frontend framework
- Relational database experience with MS SQL Server or Postgres
- Proficiency in REST API design and microservice patterns
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Minimum of 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Google Business Suite experience preferred
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment
- Ability to determine when to escalate issues in a timely manner
