Job Description
Senior backend-leaning full-stack engineer building scalable Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL systems. Supporting TeamSnap’s sports platform serving millions of daily users.
Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging experiences for millions of users across mobile and web applications
- Design and implement scalable apps and services within a unified product and system architecture
- Brainstorm and evaluate product features with product and UX teams
- Collaborate and pair with developers to develop solutions and teach technical skills
- Contribute to development standards, code quality, and engineering improvements
- Champion automated testing and own backend service reliability
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and incident management
- Evaluate and test new technologies
- Help teammates overcome obstacles, resolve blockers, and complete tasks
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant experience leading large projects on high-scale, distributed software systems as a software engineer
- Proficiency in full stack development with Node, Python, Golang, Ruby, and JavaScript using React or similar
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL / GCP Cloud SQL, including migrations, profiling, and optimization
- Hands-on experience developing APIs and services for mobile applications and web clients at scale
- Successfully delivered complex projects, including debugging problems spanning multiple systems
- Experience working with and architecting APIs, event streams, webhooks, etc.
- Experience working within and towards a distributed system
