Job Description

Senior Sustainability Consultant advising UK public and private-sector clients on low-carbon, resilient buildings at AECOM. Delivering carbon strategies, BREEAM/DREAM assessments, sustainability appraisals, and decarbonisation advisory services.

Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in developing and understanding sustainability and decarbonisation requirements
  • Develop, deliver, and review whole life carbon reduction strategies using frameworks such as GLA, LETI & RIBA, RICS, and BREEAM
  • Liaise with clients and designers to develop sustainability and decarbonisation strategies from early design through construction
  • Deliver assessment certification schemes including BREEAM and DREAM
  • Deliver sustainability appraisals such as SAW and SEEAM
  • Support project management and programming
  • Support work winning through bidding and tender responses
  • Mentor junior staff where suitable

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the building design and construction process
  • Experience undertaking WLCAs using OneClick LCA
  • Experience with assessment certification schemes, especially BREEAM and DREAM
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret data and apply it to practical sustainability solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to manage a varied workload across multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience of sustainable buildings, low-carbon design, and environmental performance
  • Understanding of broader sustainability issues and project mitigation approaches
  • Understanding of current and future sustainability and decarbonisation policies and best-practice guidance
  • Willingness to work on Defence and National Security projects
  • Active UK SC Clearance or ability to gain UK SC clearance
  • Ideally a single UK nationality
  • LEED and/or WELL experience is advantageous
