Job Description

Senior Technical Lead securing cloud workloads and AI infrastructure at Cisco Isovalent. Leading scalable backend services for telemetry, policy enforcement, and low-latency APIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers developing customer-deployed workload security solutions
  • Make architectural contributions to backend services focused on scale, performance, reliability, robustness, and security
  • Collect and process telemetry at scale from data sources in customer environments
  • React to environmental changes and render policies to large numbers of enforcement points
  • Implement low-latency API endpoints that process large volumes of data
  • Design and support services deployed in complex distributed-system environments with unique failure modes
  • Collaborate with customers, peers, technical solution architects, customer enablement engineers, and support engineers
  • Use rapid prototyping and customer feedback to improve products and deliver customer-facing capabilities
  • Architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm technical solutions

Requirements:

  • At least 8+ years of experience building software systems
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience in a software engineering environment
  • Agile experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years, PhD with 3 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency in algorithms, systems, databases, performance engineering, and security architecture
  • Schema/data modeling design experience
  • Experience with large-scale event processing architectures
  • Experience in systems programming and performance engineering
  • Experience with security architecture and database design
  • Kubernetes experience
  • Experience programming with cloud APIs for AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ability to work as a technically skilled leader who embraces Agile methodologies and rapid prototyping
  • Ability to architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm product solutions
