Job Description
Technical Leader securing enterprise workloads and AI infrastructure at Cisco. Leading backend architecture for scalable telemetry, policy, and low-latency distributed services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers
- Work on software solutions for workload security products serving complex and scalable customer environments
- Improve scale, performance, reliability, robustness, and security
- Make architectural contributions to backend services
- Collect and process telemetry at scale from customer-environment data sources
- React to environmental changes and render policies for large numbers of enforcement points
- Implement low-latency API endpoints while processing large data volumes
- Design and deploy services in complex distributed-system environments
- Architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm customer-facing product solutions
- Use agile methodologies and incorporate feedback from customers, peers, technical solution architects, customer enablement engineers, and support engineers
Requirements:
- At least 6+ years' experience building software systems
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java
- Technical leadership experience in a software engineering environment
- Agile experience
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience, Master's with 4 years, PhD with 2 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency in algorithms, systems, databases, performance engineering, and security architecture
- Schema/data modeling design experience
- Experience with large-scale event processing architectures
- Experience in systems programming and performance engineering
- Experience with security architecture and database design
- Kubernetes experience
- Experience programming using cloud APIs for AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Willingness to use agile methodologies involving rapid prototyping and customer, peer, architect, enablement, and support feedback
- Ability to architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm solutions that improve products and deliver customer-facing capabilities
