Job Description

Technical Leader securing enterprise workloads and AI infrastructure at Cisco. Leading backend architecture for scalable telemetry, policy, and low-latency distributed services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers
  • Work on software solutions for workload security products serving complex and scalable customer environments
  • Improve scale, performance, reliability, robustness, and security
  • Make architectural contributions to backend services
  • Collect and process telemetry at scale from customer-environment data sources
  • React to environmental changes and render policies for large numbers of enforcement points
  • Implement low-latency API endpoints while processing large data volumes
  • Design and deploy services in complex distributed-system environments
  • Architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm customer-facing product solutions
  • Use agile methodologies and incorporate feedback from customers, peers, technical solution architects, customer enablement engineers, and support engineers

Requirements:

  • At least 6+ years' experience building software systems
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java
  • Technical leadership experience in a software engineering environment
  • Agile experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related experience, Master's with 4 years, PhD with 2 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency in algorithms, systems, databases, performance engineering, and security architecture
  • Schema/data modeling design experience
  • Experience with large-scale event processing architectures
  • Experience in systems programming and performance engineering
  • Experience with security architecture and database design
  • Kubernetes experience
  • Experience programming using cloud APIs for AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Willingness to use agile methodologies involving rapid prototyping and customer, peer, architect, enablement, and support feedback
  • Ability to architect, design, analyze, and brainstorm solutions that improve products and deliver customer-facing capabilities
