Job Description

Small-business engagement lead helping underserved suppliers navigate public procurement through Civic Marketplace’s digital platform. Building supplier partnerships, education programs, and scalable engagement operations nationwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with small, minority-owned, and HUB-certified businesses
  • Host onboarding sessions, educational workshops, and community briefings about government contracting
  • Guide vendors through profile completion, bid readiness, and project matching
  • Represent supplier feedback internally to shape tools and policies
  • Collaborate with chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, cooperative purchasing networks, and advocacy groups
  • Drive supplier acquisition in high-priority states and RFP verticals
  • Design and optimize internal processes, feedback loops, and CRM workflows
  • Help scale supplier-side operations efficiently

Requirements:

  • Experience working with HUBs, MWBEs, DBEs, or similar certification programs, ideally in a public or nonprofit setting
  • Strong understanding of public procurement and small-business success in government contracting
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable leading webinars and engaging with micro-enterprise founders and public procurement officers
  • Familiarity with the B2G Platform, Texas DIR, CRMs such as HubSpot, Airtable, or similar outreach and tracking tools
  • Grit, ownership, and integrity
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken in underserved small-business communities is a bonus
  • Prior experience in vendor engagement, certification support, or small-business technical assistance is a bonus
  • Experience with a cooperative purchasing network is a bonus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
