Job Description
Software Engineer building Airbnb’s high-scale regulatory systems for global host and guest growth. Designing reliable fullstack platforms with cross-functional teams across India and the US.
Responsibilities:
- Build tools and systems to scale regulatory launches worldwide, focusing on supply growth and retention
- Design and build product and platform features
- Define and maintain a culture of craftsmanship and engineering excellence
- Represent the engineering team with global cross-functional partners across regulatory projects
- Work closely with global stakeholders on product alignment, requirements, and specifications
- Build high-scale, reliable features and platforms using engineering best practices
- Strategize and brainstorm opportunities with Product, Partnerships, and other cross-functional leaders
- Drive relevant metrics to measure initiative success
- Support 24x7 engineering operations to maintain highly reliable services
Requirements:
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of relevant engineering work experience
- Strong coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications
- Proficiency in one or more JVM based languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc.) are preferred
- Familiarity with frontend web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, React and GraphQL)
- Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Familiarity with patterns, libraries and frameworks for building and testing services, and service-to-service communication
- Experience partnering with Operations, Policy, Legal, and Product functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems, identify patterns, and propose data-driven solutions
- Strong project management abilities
- Ability to drive end-to-end initiatives, align stakeholders, manage timelines, and proactively remove roadblocks for high-quality outcomes in fast-moving environments
