Job Description
Solutions Engineer supporting U.S. Federal sales for Cisco ThousandEyes, a digital experience assurance platform. Demonstrating, architecting, and deploying solutions for network and application performance visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Support the technical sales process
- Assist sales in technical prospecting to uncover opportunities
- Demonstrate ThousandEyes solutions, capabilities, and use cases
- Build and maintain technical trusted-advisor relationships with customers
- Support customers during solution trials
- Scope and architect solution deployments
- Present to decision makers during trial wrap-up meetings
- Participate in Solutions Engineering team activities, weekly meetings, and quarterly business review sales meetings
- Present technical topics and successful wins
- Share technical challenges and ways to overcome them
- Establish and enhance demonstration material
- Research technical topics impacting the industry
- Interface with Marketing and support trade shows, networking events, and ThousandEyes Connect events
- Contribute to blog, social media, white-paper, and case-study content
- Interface with Product Management and Engineering to provide solution feedback and suggestions
- Participate in internal and external solution beta programs
- Coordinate with Customer Success on post-sales training, deployment, and support
- Encourage customers to use Customer Success as an extension of their NOC
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience
- Experience selling into US Federal customers
- Experience working with application and network protocols, including HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and BGP
- Experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting application and network infrastructure
- Experience working with unified communications technologies or solutions
- Preferred: experience with application and network performance analysis solutions
- Preferred: experience with packet analysis of network and application protocols
- Preferred: experience using at least one scripting language, such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting and supporting Apple, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems
- Preferred: experience delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to technical and business audiences
