Job Description
Sourcing Manager procuring HHP hardware and mechanical assembly components for Cummins. Analyzing suppliers, costs, contracts, and procurement processes to improve value and supply continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Collect information, inputs, and data from various sources and conduct analysis or simulations to support sourcing work
- Analyze sourcing information and present findings for process improvement and cost reduction while maintaining high-quality product and service delivery
- Support sourcing processes and source assigned items according to agreed sourcing strategies and optimum cost
- Support or lead special projects within the team category scope
- Serve as a super user or subject matter expert for systems and tools
- Procure inventory, supplies, capital goods, services, and other goods; place purchase orders with vendors
- Analyze sourcing and procurement initiatives and processes
- Prepare and present value capture summaries and recommendations at month and quarter ends
- Apply sourcing policies, procedures, and processes
- Support price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, and model building
- Conduct minor contract negotiations and provide input on larger contracts
- Load and retrieve legal and compliance documents for regulatory, audit, and research activities
- Assist with interviewing and evaluating sales representatives and vendors
- Support Six Sigma projects through team participation, data, and market intelligence
- Interact with suppliers regarding payments and order fulfillment
- Compile and manage Ariba IACs (Invoice against Contracts)
- Perform low-complexity/risk sourcing work and contract development under supervision
Requirements:
- Experience with HHP hardware and mechanical assembly components
- College, university, or equivalent degree in a field appropriate for the function, or equivalent experience required
- May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
- Knowledge of data analytics, procurement systems, sourcing, Source to Pay principles, supply base risk management, procurement policies and tools
- Ability to use purchasing systems for RFQ processes and Total Cost of Ownership comparisons
- Ability to conduct price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, and model building
- Ability to conduct minor contract negotiations and support larger contracts
- Ability to manage legal and compliance documents in storage systems
- Understanding of procurement ethics and confidential disclosure requirements
