Job Description
State Relations Specialist connecting National FFA with state agricultural education associations. Managing partnerships, educational projects, stakeholder training, reporting, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the National FFA Organization and state FFA associations
- Initiate, build, and maintain relationships within the organization
- Establish and maintain relationships with state leadership and local teachers, focusing on educational services and support for FFA staff
- Understand state initiatives and needs
- Develop and manage projects from start to finish using needs assessments, content, collaboration, and distribution
- Facilitate relationships among state leadership, teachers, and FFA colleagues
- Complete reports summarizing travel, communication, and information between states and the organization
- Manage the budget and financial responsibilities
- Provide stakeholder trainings using approved National FFA materials and methods
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural education required
- 5-7 years of related educational experience or extensive state or national staff experience
- Understanding of trends within agriculture education and/or FFA program areas
- Team player able to work independently in a frequently changing environment
- Outstanding interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication, and project management skills
- Ability to interact, influence, and work with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective prioritization, organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to problem solve and analyze
- Computer proficiency and ability to make and receive phone calls
- Confidence speaking in front of small and large groups
