Job Description
Supply Chain Project Manager managing server procurement, vendors, inventory, and deployment risks for Akamai’s global cloud and edge network.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain procurement relationships with server vendors
- Provide feedback for vendor scorecards and participate in quarterly business reviews
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and align procurement decisions with short- and long-term objectives
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Program Management, and Planning to integrate new products and technologies
- Manage roadmap risk and outdated inventory
- Address material shortages and unexpected conditions
- Collaborate with business groups to understand component roles and impacts of delays
- Monitor pending deployments
- Suggest inter-warehouse transfers, project sequencing, and equipment substitutions
- Optimize deployment timeliness and overall deployment costs
- Research, track, and resolve supply issues efficiently
- Collaborate with vendors for timely, cost-effective solutions
- Work with server manufacturers, 3PLs, carriers, repair vendors, Cloud Technology Group, and Finance stakeholders
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in forecasting/procurement
- Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent
- Experience utilizing Oracle, Siebel, Tableau, Anaplan, and SQL
- Project and Vendor Management experience
- Exceptional analytical abilities in financial and operational contexts
- Ability to perform detailed tasks independently with precision and accuracy
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and intercultural communication abilities in written and verbal formats
