Job Description

Tax Coordinator I providing administrative support to the tax department focused on tax processes and procedures. Assisting with filing, reporting, and client/vendor inquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a variety of simple to moderately complex administrative support functions to the tax department related to tax processes and procedures
  • Support the tax department in areas such as corporate income, sales and use tax, annual reports, business license, and property tax
  • Respond to client and vendor requests including but not limited to report preparation, accounting/tax software inquiries, concerns, or issues
  • Assist with basic preparation and filing of corporation annual reports, business license registrations, information returns, and other miscellaneous regulatory compliances
  • Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining purchase requisitions and purchase orders for the tax department
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to federal and state governmental tax notices and miscellaneous communications
  • Assist with maintenance of W-9 forms received and issued and sales & use tax exemption and resale certificates
  • Assist with preparation of supporting workpapers related to the US federal and state income/franchise tax returns, state and local sales and use tax, and personal property tax audits
  • Assemble tax returns through exporting data files and printing required documentation utilizing a variety of tax software
  • Prepare certified mailing documents to ensure tax returns are delivered to post office on time as required by federal, state, and local tax filing deadlines

Requirements:

  • Associate degree with major coursework in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • 1 year of experience in an office providing administrative support
  • Knowledge of Accounting best practices, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with intermediate skill level in Excel and Word
