Job Description
Technical Writer at Granicus responsible for creating documentation for products focusing on public release notes. Collaborating with multiple teams, ensuring clarity and consistency in communications.
Responsibilities:
- Edit, format, publish, and share internal and external release notes for multiple products.
- Rewrite and re-format product, engineering, marketing, and training/implementation communications for utilization on the support portal.
- Follow style guide and processes and work with team for ongoing improvement and adaptation.
- Use logic and general software understanding to strategically ensure accuracy and effective communication approaches.
- Assist in the work and planning related to documentation migration projects.
- Share product's customer communications across company teams as instructed and as needed.
- Work closely with multiple teams to increase and enable consistency and clarity of customer communications.
- Monitor and document the organization, usage, review, and updating of the support portal content.
- Work with AI tools and other teams to review and update the Knowledge Base.
- Edit and review other writers' work as requested.
- Track, collect, and compile product documentation data for statistical analysis and reports.
- Attend meetings with other departments to learn about projects and requirements.
- Use provided tools to follow established SOPs: Jira tickets to track work and manage tasks, Salesforce Knowledge Base for document creation and web display, Confluence for internal documentation, Wistia for video management, Miro for planning and sharing the grouping and hierarchy of portal documentation, Adobe and Word for editing attachments, AI - Forethought and ChatGPT
Requirements:
- A degree in technical writing or 2+ years of directly related experience
- The ability to communicate well with team members and people and teams from various backgrounds and with different working styles
- Experience with documentation management
- Experience with writing to audiences with different needs and levels of understanding
- You are detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills
- You have effective project and task management skills, including challenging the status quo and identifying needs to re-assess existing approaches/processes
- You are adaptable, enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and have comfort with multi-tasking
- You demonstrate an ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Skills in utilizing the provided tools are a plus
