Job Description
Translator delivering French translation, editing, and proofreading for Fidelity Canada’s investment and financial-content business. Managing terminology, quality, and deadlines across marketing materials.
Responsibilities:
- Provide French translation, editing, proofreading, and project management
- Maintain and strengthen the integrity of the Fidelity brand
- Proofread internal and external translations to ensure they meet Fidelity’s standards
- Provide translation services in accordance with industry regulations and Fidelity’s standards
- Integrate translation into Marketing Operations to deliver quality materials within deadlines
- Review and approve French materials for accuracy in consultation with the Team Manager or Manager
- Negotiate timelines with internal partners and escalate unresolved issues
- Review externally and internally translated materials for French-language quality
- Resolve terminology, language style, and content questions
- Conduct industry-specific terminology research using government and specialized sources
- Maintain and improve Fidelity’s internal terminology base and glossary
- Monitor new French terms and trends to ensure appropriate, high-quality language in Fidelity documents
Requirements:
- Current work authorization for Canada
- Minimum of 3 years of translation experience, preferably in the financial industry or a related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation from a recognized institution or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills in English and French
- Knowledge of financial markets and terminology
- Ability to translate in both languages accurately and with appropriate style
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
- Self-organization, self-management, initiative, and ability to work with minimal direction
- Proficiency with machine translation software, including GlobalLink
- Membership in ATIO or OTTIAQ would be an asset
- Willingness to participate in promotional videos for digital content would be an asset
