Job Description
UX/UI Designer owning Freebird’s DTC grooming conversion surfaces, design system, and A/B testing. Improving PDP, checkout, and post-purchase experiences through measurable experimentation.
Responsibilities:
- Own UX/UI for conversion-critical pages, including PDPs, checkout flows, landing pages, CTAs, and post-purchase experiences.
- Design A/B test variants with clear hypotheses and defined success metrics.
- Evaluate test results, document winning patterns, analyze losing variants, and iterate.
- Partner with the CRO Manager to maintain a design hypothesis backlog.
- Identify customer-journey friction using heatmaps, session replays, and analytics, then create test briefs.
- Own the Figma component library, design tokens, and pattern documentation.
- Maintain design-system version control and governance.
- Review team output, flag deviations, and evolve the design system as product lines expand.
- Create specifications and acceptance criteria for implementation.
- Deliver polished, production-ready designs within sprint cadence.
- Maintain pixel-perfect execution across web and app experiences.
- Provide development handoffs with specifications, interaction notes, and edge-case coverage.
- Contribute to sprint planning and grooming by estimating work, flagging risks, and delivering commitments.
- Establish scalable design practices, critique culture, file organization, and handoff standards.
- Set the team's quality bar through strong execution and high standards.
Requirements:
- 4–7 years of UX/UI design experience; significant DTC or e-commerce experience with PDPs, checkout flows, and subscription experiences is required.
- Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems in Figma, including components, variants, design tokens, and documentation.
- Portfolio demonstrating measurable business impact, such as conversion improvements, increased CTR, CVR gains, or AOV growth.
- Experience with the full experimentation process, from hypothesis development and variant design through results analysis and iteration.
- Ability to work independently, proactively communicate blockers, and maintain momentum without perfect processes.
- Comfortable presenting and defending design decisions using customer insights and performance data.
- Advanced Figma proficiency.
- Meaningful overlap with US working hours.
- Bonus: experience with CRO or experimentation teams.
- Bonus: familiarity with Shopify or headless commerce environments.
- Bonus: background in direct-response marketing or performance creative.
- Bonus: experience building a design system from scratch at a DTC brand.
Benefits:
- Your design decisions are measured. You'll see the impact of your work through real business results.
- No politics, just execution. Join a fast-moving, high-ownership, results-driven culture.
- Make your mark by helping scale a 9-figure DTC brand on the verge of global breakout.
- Kind, people-focused team that communicates openly, collaborates well, and supports one another.
- We embrace growth and change, never settle, and continuously improve.
- We move fast, keep things simple, and innovate without fear.
- Remote-first and flexible. Work from anywhere with autonomy and trust.
- Unlimited PTO. Recharge when you need to, without counting days.
