Job Description
Vice President of Finance leading financial strategy for FamilyWell Health, focusing on women’s mental health. Seeking strategic leader to drive financial planning and analysis as we scale nationally.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the Revenue Cycle Management team to translate operational and collections data into financial projections
- Ensure KPI dashboards align with company targets
- Model new pricing structures and payer arrangements
- Build, maintain, and continuously refine sophisticated financial models to support profitability-focused strategic and operational decision-making
- Conduct scenario analyses to inform trade-offs between growth, margin, and capital efficiency
- Translate complex financial analyses into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership
- Partner with leadership on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning with a focus on cash flow, margin expansion, and operating leverage
- Analyze unit economics by state, payer, and service line to prioritize high-margin, sustainable growth
- Develop financial dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into business performance, runway, and path to profitability
- Support board and investor discussions with clear financial narratives centered on capital efficiency, sustainable margins, and long-term value creation
- Provide oversight of the Controller, accounting operations, and overall financial governance
- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing finance team
- Set clear goals and performance metrics; provide ongoing coaching and professional development for your team members
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Scale team structure and capabilities in alignment with company growth and financial priorities
- Partner with external vendors and consultants as needed to supplement internal expertise
- Collaborate with the CEO and cross-functional leaders to evaluate the financial viability of new services and growth opportunities
- Build strong relationships with board members through communication, presentations, and financial modeling for fundraising
- Engage with industry associations and peer networks to stay informed on best practices in healthcare finance
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in FP&A, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Director, Head of Finance, VP, or CFO)
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Experience building, managing, and developing teams in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field and an MBA or other relevant advanced degree
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing to profitability, margin expansion, or cash-flow discipline in a high-growth environment (strongly preferred)
- Experience with Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) billing codes (strongly preferred)
- Background in women’s health, maternal health, or behavioral health services (strongly preferred)
- Experience at a Series A (or later) high-growth startup or digital health company (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of multi-state healthcare operations and regulatory environments (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with EHR systems and practice management software (strongly preferred)
- Healthcare finance or revenue cycle certifications (e.g., CHFP, CRCR) (strongly preferred)
