Job Description

Web/Data Content Manager overseeing development and optimization of digital platforms within federal defense environment. Ensuring compliance with digital content standards and data governance frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of digital platforms within a federal and defense-contracting environment.
  • Ensure all digital content is secure, accessible, and aligned with agency-wide messaging and data governance frameworks.
  • Manage, update, and maintain digital content using enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS), ensuring all updates comply with federal standards and agency policy.
  • Ensure all web content adheres to Section 508 accessibility standards, cybersecurity protocols, and Operational Security (OPSEC) considerations.
  • Implement data strategy principles, including metadata management and data cataloging, to align with agency-wide governance frameworks.
  • Edit, develop, and publish digital content that accurately reflects agency messaging and communications objectives.
  • Monitor and interpret website traffic using tools such as Google Analytics to provide actionable insights and inform content strategy.
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve search performance and site usability.
  • Serve as a key liaison within a cross-functional team to facilitate content reviews and approvals.
  • Manage content archiving in accordance with federal records retention policies and processes.
  • Ensure digital presence mirrors high-level policy and agency goals.

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing digital content specifically within federal or defense environments.
  • Proven track record of working with CMS platforms and managing complex approval workflows.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to support manual web updates.
  • Proficiency in web analytics and SEO implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Web Development, IT, or a related field (with 3+ years of experience); OR Associate degree from an accredited institution (with 5+ years of relevant experience).
  • Candidates must possess at least one of the following (or equivalent): Certified Web Accessibility Specialist (CWAS) Google Analytics Certification.
  • Additional certifications in data governance, accessibility, or digital content management are highly advantageous.
  • Possesses and maintains Top Secret Clearance (SCI preferred).
