Job Description

Freelance bilingual editor preparing and approving English/French web content for Siege Media, an organic growth agency. Fact-checking, optimizing structure, and aligning client copy with audiences and style guides.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, edit, and rewrite comprehensive copy on varied topics in English and French
  • Identify and correct spelling, grammar, and syntax errors
  • Adapt tone and complexity for the target audience and relevant style guides
  • Fact-check dates, names, statistics, and other information
  • Improve content structure and flow
  • Provide final approval on assigned client copy
  • Implement feedback from clients and teammates
  • Support the growth of clients’ online presence

Requirements:

  • Close attention to detail with a strong focus on AP style
  • Experience writing and editing web content, including long-form guides, infographics, how-tos, software/tool roundups, comparison posts, trend reports, and thought leadership content
  • Extensive knowledge of niche topics in health, legal, finance, and/or technology
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills for productive remote working relationships
  • Experience using Google Workspace
  • 2–3 years of experience creating and editing content for French- and English-speaking companies or brands
  • 2–3 years of experience in an editor role at a digital publication, reputable news site, industry blog, or agency
  • Intermediate SEO knowledge and working knowledge of SEO tools (suggested)
  • Experience collaborating with design teams and advising on design and UX best practices (suggested)
  • Portfolio samples written in both English and French
  • Resume and cover letter required during application
