Job Description
Procurement manager leading RFPs, supplier analysis, contracting, and process improvements. Supporting Hershey’s confectionery business through cross-functional sourcing strategy and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and execute procurement work spanning multiple teams or functional areas
- Independently manage procurement projects and owned processes within a defined area
- Ensure procurement work aligns with policies and stakeholder requirements
- Conduct supplier assessments, research, and market analysis
- Synthesize data into actionable insights and identify supplier risks or opportunities
- Prepare documents and coordinate contract reviews for negotiation cycles
- Identify contractual inconsistencies and engage category owners to resolve them
- Collaborate with Planning, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Project Managers
- Resolve procurement-related challenges and recommend practical solutions
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improved procurement processes
- Lead and execute RFPs and competitive bidding events
- Conduct supplier due diligence and communicate requirements
- Evaluate bids and summarize findings with the Business Owner
- Understand sourcing needs and support sourcing project plans and longer-term strategy
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in procurement
- At least 2 years in an indirect procurement role
- Preferably experience with Capital procurement capacity
- Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required
- Understanding of procurement processes and purchasing products and services
- Data analysis knowledge, including structured and unstructured data
- Supplier management knowledge
- Experience with RFI and RFP development
- Ability to incorporate technical requirements into contracts
- Compliance management knowledge
- Work order management knowledge
