Job Description

Category Manager driving growth strategy, assortment, and customer experience for refurbed’s refurbished Home, Garden, Sports, and Kids marketplace categories. Using data, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to expand sustainable European commerce.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the mid-term category growth strategy, including targets, assortment priorities, and category-specific growth opportunities
  • Identify and close assortment gaps across subcategories, brands, and top-selling products with business developers and account managers
  • Assess category performance, stock availability, and attractiveness; trigger sourcing and commercial actions to improve performance
  • Prioritise improvements to the on-site category experience, product presentation, and customer journey with the product team using competitor insights and customer data
  • Automate processes to focus more time on insights and recommendations
  • Act as the category expert and point of contact for internal teams
  • Report to the Category Management Team Lead and work closely with the Head of New Categories

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a category management or commercial analytics role, in a dynamic e-commerce and/or marketplace environment
  • Highly analytical and structured, with the ability to turn data into clear insights and prioritised actions
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of marketplace supply and demand dynamics
  • Experience in project management and working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Growth mindset; persistent, proactive, and a hands-on problem solver
  • AI-advocate who uses the latest tools and technologies to work smarter and faster
  • Nice to have: experience in Home & Garden, Sports, or Kids categories
  • Nice to have: ability to work with data beyond dashboards, such as Python and/or SQL
