Job Description
Associate Manager leading long-term disability claims review, investigation, and adjudication at Manulife. Developing claims operations, staff performance, customer service, and administrative efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop staff members
- Monitor workflow management
- Conduct performance management and hire staff
- Ensure effective disability management practices are appropriately utilized
- Provide technical support and guidance on complex claims issues
- Establish and support the development of customer relationships with key accounts
- Lead the disability claim team responsible for reviewing and investigating all LTD claims
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service and administrative efficiencies
- Foster a high-performing culture, strong engagement, employee retention and a high-quality claims management organization
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Group Disability adjudication, insurance products and case management practices
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in technical training and development of staff
- Completion of post-secondary education in health sciences field helpful
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results oriented, multiple team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Results oriented with strong decision-making ability
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset; if the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec
