Job Description
Software Development Manager leading development, QA and DevOps for Agiblocks, Agiboo’s cloud-based commodity trading platform. Driving automation, AI-assisted engineering and resilient software delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day R&D process for the development, QA and DevOps team
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate DevOps efforts
- Modernise build and testing practices through automated testing and AI-assisted software development
- Expand automated test coverage and reduce manual regression effort
- Introduce coding assistants, AI-supported code review, documentation, legacy migration and AI-generated tests
- Establish guardrails for safe AI-generated code, including human accountability, security review, licence and IP hygiene
- Define and report delivery cycle time, escaped defects, automated coverage and regression runtime
- Lead, mentor and motivate developers, QA and DevOps staff
- Drive recruiting, onboarding and performance feedback
- Develop engineers through code reviews, pair programming and design discussions
- Work with the Product Owner to clarify requirements, estimate work and plan sprints
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, twice-weekly user-story grooming, and biweekly sprint closing and planning meetings
- Coordinate development and DevOps contributions to customer-funded, consulting and implementation projects
- Track sprint outcomes and delivery metrics
- Coordinate software releases and provide or facilitate cost estimates
- Write code, review pull requests and debug production issues
- Lead technical discussions and make or approve day-to-day technical decisions
- Coordinate hosting, deployment and release needs with DevOps engineers
- Troubleshoot product and infrastructure issues and enforce secure engineering practices
- Evaluate and lead modernisation of tools, platforms and integrations
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
- 5+ years in professional software development
- Experience building and maintaining commercial web-based business software
- Experience as a technical lead, senior developer with team coordination responsibilities, or development manager
- Strong working knowledge of web-based C# and .NET, including traditional .NET and modern .NET
- Experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework
- Knowledge of containerized software hosting and SaaS delivery
- Experience integrating with external systems
- Production experience with React, Blazor or ASP.NET MVC
- Microsoft Azure and microservices architecture experience
- Working knowledge of containerised, cloud-based deployment using Kubernetes
- Knowledge of layered/3-tier application design
- Experience with MS SQL/Azure SQL and MongoDB
- Hands-on Agile/Scrum, CI/CD and test automation practice
- Automated tests integrated into the pipeline
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development in a working team
- Ability to lead development, QA and DevOps teams, onshore and offshore
- Strong ownership, clear communication, structured working style and pragmatic engineering judgment
