Job Description

Billing and revenue controller managing German-market contracts, invoicing, and revenue recognition for Nielsen’s media insights business. Ensuring SAP, Salesforce, VAT, and month-end close accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve incoming contracts and Sales Orders for alignment with pricing policies and legal requirements
  • Guide Sales on contract structuring to ensure billability
  • Partner with Revenue Controllership to ensure contract accuracy and policy compliance
  • Manage the end-to-end billing cycle for German customers, including VAT compliance and language requirements
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and manage credit memo processes
  • Maintain accurate customer master data in ERP and CRM systems
  • Perform monthly revenue recognition under IFRS 15 / ASC 606
  • Prepare and post journal entries for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and revenue adjustments
  • Reconcile revenue accounts and provide variance analysis
  • Execute month-end close activities
  • Run SAP deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, intercompany reconciliation, and revenue recognition transactions
  • Perform comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure GL integrity
  • Generate weekly and monthly billing, receivables aging, and recognized revenue reports
  • Maintain data integrity across SAP and Salesforce
  • Contribute to billing workflow optimization and system automation projects

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Billing, Revenue Operations, or Financial Controlling
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, especially FI/CO or SD modules; SAP S/4HANA preferred
  • Experience managing contract terms and customer lifecycles in Salesforce desired
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis
  • Fluency in Google Sheets desired
  • Professional-level fluency in German and English (C1/C2) essential
  • Ability to ensure local German VAT compliance and apply IFRS 15 / ASC 606 standards
