Job Description
Billing Specialist managing invoicing, billing accuracy, and disputes for a full-service law firm. Supporting collections, month-end processes, and cash flow through organized revenue operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and issue accurate, timely invoices, including billable hours and client-specific billing arrangements
- Work with partners and internal stakeholders to validate billing details before invoicing
- Track billing schedules and meet deadlines
- Review time entries, expenses, and billing data for accuracy and compliance
- Resolve billing queries and disputes by coordinating with internal teams and communicating with clients
- Maintain organized billing records and documentation
- Support month-end processes by keeping billing data complete and current
- Identify recurring billing issues and suggest process improvements
- Partner with collections and accounts receivable to ensure a smooth handoff from invoicing to payment
- Support invoicing and billing operations to reduce client friction and support cash flow
Requirements:
- 4–7 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations
- Familiarity with AI-assisted billing tools, including AI features in accounting or ERP platforms
- Willingness to adopt AI-augmented workflows
- Experience automating finance systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with hourly, fixed-fee, and retainer billing structures
- Clear communication and issue-resolution abilities
- Ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines
- Experience with accounting or billing systems, including ERP and legal billing tools
- Solid Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Ability to support US Eastern Time working hours
