Job Description

Business Process Analyst supporting GDIT’s Defense Manpower data systems. Gathering requirements, testing applications, and maintaining SDLC documentation remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Support business, functional, and technical requirements across DIRP-II applications (IRRU, IBUC, IIC, MSID, MDM)
  • Work with senior business analysts, developers, testers, and government stakeholders
  • Create and document business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Create QA test cases and execute test plans
  • Participate in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Develop use cases, create and review requirements, support application discussions, testing, and deployment preparation
  • Maintain and update functional specifications, user guides, test plans, release notes, and other project documentation
  • Use JIRA to create and manage tickets, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Support testing in development, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing environments
  • Capture and distribute meeting minutes
  • Learn DIRP systems and processes and build application knowledge
  • Develop technical capabilities including data analysis and SQL skills
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain DMDC Position of Trust
  • BA/BS or equivalent related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in business analysis, testing, technical writing, or project coordination
  • Requirements gathering, workflow creation, process analysis, use case development, and translating requirements into actionable solutions
  • Manual or automated testing experience
  • Experience creating technical specifications, functional specifications, user manuals, or similar artifacts
  • Software project management and management of cross-functional team deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and eager to learn
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • JIRA and SQL familiarity is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to learn and work with QA test automation platforms
  • Ability to work with medium- to high-complexity IT systems
  • Analytical thinking and excellent communication skills
