Job Description
Category Manager developing global infrastructure sourcing strategies for GE HealthCare’s medical technology business. Negotiating suppliers, reducing costs, mitigating risk, and improving procurement performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop global sourcing and procurement strategies across the Infrastructure category, representing approximately $10M in spend
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal contractual terms while ensuring internal stakeholder satisfaction
- Use industry knowledge and market trends to inform strategic decisions and improve sourcing practices
- Build relationships with critical business stakeholders to meet current and future business requirements
- Define and execute sourcing or category management strategies aligned with business goals
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with IT and business teams
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, internal policy, legal, and quality-system requirements
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis
- Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and sustainability initiatives
- Lead or support supplier transitions, audits, and performance evaluations
- Monitor and report category performance metrics and implement improvements
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members
- Support global and regional sourcing initiatives and projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management
- Proven experience negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier performance
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Experience working in a matrixed, global organization
- Experience with contract terms, redlining, and negotiation
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Lean/Six Sigma certification or experience with process improvement methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
- Proficiency in sourcing tools and systems
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
