Job Description

Clinical Administration Specialist reviewing patient records and assessing medical transport needs for an air ambulance organization. Coordinating clinical, flight, legal, and revenue-cycle teams while documenting patient conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess medical information and medical records to determine potential medical transport needs
  • Write clear medical review summaries analyzing the patient condition necessitating medical transport
  • Coordinate with Clinical Operations, Flight Coordination, Legal, and Revenue Cycle Management
  • Draft “History of Present Illness” (HPI) documentation upon request
  • Coordinate and assist multiple departments regarding HPIs
  • Train on and understand Letters of Medical Necessity (LOMNs)
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement and other assigned projects
  • Maintain compliance with Employee Handbook and Air Ambulance Operations Manual policies
  • Maintain compliance with privacy, EMTALA, and HIPAA requirements
  • Communicate with medical and flight crewmembers, Medical Directors, Flight Coordinators, Dispatch/Logistics, Revenue Cycle Management, Legal, coworkers, vendors, customers, and patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Registered Nursing required
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience
  • Current unencumbered RN license(s) required
  • Read, speak, and write English
  • Computer proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Dedicated workspace ensuring protection of HIPAA and sensitive information
  • Knowledge and compliance with privacy, EMTALA, and HIPAA requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Previous telehealth, medical insurance and compliance, or Legal Nurse Consultant experience preferred
  • Multi-state privilege license preferred
