Job Description

Community Engagement Partner representing Medica, a nonprofit health plan serving Medicaid members. Building county and community partnerships across Minnesota’s regional area.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Medica at county meetings, health fairs, conferences, public forums, and community events
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate meetings, discussion groups, and special events
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships to expand outreach and strengthen relationships with counties and community partners
  • Share insights and learnings with Medica leadership on issues important to counties and supporting organizations
  • Maintain detailed records of member and county engagement, contacts, and outreach activities in Medica’s CRM platform
  • Establish and build partnerships and meaningful relationships with organizations throughout the Twin Cities, Minnesota metro
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in county relations, public health, social services, community outreach, or advocacy
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Minnesota regional area, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to attend indoor and outdoor public events in all weather conditions
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • 2+ years of preferred relationship management experience with providers, counties, and community health organizations
  • Understanding of healthcare and managed care, including Medicaid and Medicare
  • Bilingual Somali is highly desired but not required
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Cultural competency and ability to engage diverse populations
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in virtual platforms: WebEx and Zoom
  • Understanding of Healthy Communities principles and community health dynamics
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application
