Job Description
Construction Manager overseeing commercial building construction activities, ensuring compliance and safety standards in Canada. Leading project execution and coordinating subcontractor efforts for successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on‑site supervisory authority during all active construction phases
- Provide full‑time site presence as required by the project schedule
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and housekeeping
- Coordinate work sequencing and site logistics to avoid conflicts and delays
- Plan and manage outages, shutdowns, and system tie‑ins in coordination with facility operations
- Maintain accurate daily site logs, manpower reports, and construction activity records
- Support quality assurance (QA) review of contract tender documents
- Implement and enforce the Site Project Health & Safety Plan
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in commercial building electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction
- Current First Aid certification required prior to starting on site
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project
- Legally entitled to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship
- Valid provincial driver’s license, in good standing
- Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Reliability Status security clearance (condition of employment)
