Job Description
Data Product Analyst translating business and data needs into delivery-ready requirements for Arden University’s digital higher education products. Supporting Agile Scrum teams, data products and AI-enabled education transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Translate data product vision and strategy into clear, actionable requirements
- Work closely with Data Product Leads, Lead Engineers and the wider Scrum team
- Capture and document business and data requirements
- Map processes and workflows
- Translate strategic priorities into user stories and well-defined backlog items
- Act as the day-to-day link between Data Product Leads and the Scrum team
- Facilitate collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bring structure and clarity to complex requirements
- Support initiatives from idea through delivery
- Contribute to wider data product development activities
- Support team priorities and continuously improve data product development and delivery across the University
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in a numerate, business or analytical discipline, such as Business, Data, Economics or Computer Science, or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Proven experience in a Product Analyst, Business Analyst or similar requirements-focused role, ideally within a data or technical product environment
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation
- Process mapping and documentation skills using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io or Miro
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Backlog management, user story writing and defining acceptance criteria
- Ability to translate ambiguous or complex business needs into structured requirements
- Understanding of data concepts, including data models, data sources and data pipelines
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with business and technical audiences
- Higher Education experience desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or similar desirable
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps or other backlog management tooling desirable
- Experience supporting multiple product workstreams concurrently desirable
- Must have the right to work in the UK; Arden cannot sponsor a Skilled Worker visa for this role
