Job Description
DevOps Engineer managing Kubernetes, OpenStack, and Linux cloud infrastructure for Capgemini Engineering. Automating operations and resolving critical customer incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized applications and infrastructure on Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and OpenStack
- Serve as subject matter expert for cloud infrastructure technologies, advanced Linux/CentOS administration, Docker/containers, and complex networking
- Investigate and resolve complex, high-severity customer issues across the cloud stack
- Identify root causes and implement effective, durable solutions for customer incidents
- Prepare and conduct Root Cause Analysis for critical incidents
- Develop, test, and maintain Python and Ansible automation scripts
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual maintenance and deployment effort
- Provide end-to-end Escalation, Monitoring, and Emergency support as a final escalation point
- Liaise with customer and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions
- Stay current with cloud and containerization best practices and emerging technologies
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and proven hands-on experience with Linux administration
- Strong knowledge of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, and firewalls, in a cloud environment
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration, OpenStack platforms, and Docker/containerization
- Sharp troubleshooting skills and an analytical mindset for complex challenges
- Solid Python scripting skills for task automation and system management
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management
- Expertise in preparing and implementing Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
- Proven experience with EME (Escalation, Monitoring, and Emergency) management processes
- One or more listed certifications considered an added advantage: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure (EX210), Red Hat Certified Engineer in Red Hat OpenStack (EX310), RHCSA, RHCE, CKA, EX280, or EX380
